“we are going to fish ham pool bud but we dont know anything about the lake apart from there is a 40 common a few 20s.but ide like to konw whats the best swims are what the lake bed is like be for we get fishing.”

“no bud the only thing other than what ive sed is that the key to the lake is to bait your spots light cuz if you dump loads of bait in they dont feed on your spot for days. Well thats the word. The thing is do i do as they say or fish it my way thats the thing?? BUT can you go on what other people tell you thats the thing as im new to the water are the just saying that so i dont hook a fish?? i thing ill have a few days of light baiting then if that dont work up the bait a bit to see if that will bring them ion to the swim lol”

“Hi boy/girls what a fishing trip.

Right the info i found out about the lake. Its only 8 acres in size with around 30 to 50 swims and the lake holds around 250 carp going up to 40lb it also holds a good head of tench going up to 10lb and loads of bream.

The lake bed is mostly made up of silt/chod with some small gravel spots that are not easy to find but well worth an hour looking for them in you swim with the marker rod there are also loads of lilys to fish up to in the shallows and other swims but you CANT FISH IN THE SHALLOW tho as this is where all the carp can be seen sunbathing when its hot and from what ive seen most of the fish in ham pool are well over the 20 mark .

How did i get on?? Well on my left hand rod i was fishing over a spod mixs on a very small gravel spot around 40 or 50 yards out.
In my spod i had sweetcorn,trout pellet,cell pellet,hemp and pineapple boillies witch in total was around 9kg of spod mix.
On this rod i fished popup sweetcorn and only got (15) bream to 4lb hopping that the carp would come in and push the bream off the spot but to no joy.

On my right hand rod i was fishing 57 yards out over silt/chod on a chod rig and the bait i was using was heat boillies.
I was baiting light on this rod putting out around 30 baits in the morning and just befor dark i would put out around 60 baits to see me thorught the night and nothing came to this rod the hole time.
I did this till thurseday morning where we had a rethink.
On the rethink we mad the desishion to move lake.

CLATTERCOTE!! was all i was thinking.

CLATTERCOTE was now on the cards just to hook a few cap but it would be around 60 miles to get there from this lake so we packed up by 11:30am and was on our way.

We got to clattercote buy 1:30 2 oclock and fished it till 8:30pm and in this time i had 17 carp going up to 14lb and lost 4 and my mate had 3 up to 15lb and lost 2 so all in all to was worth the move be a long move well worth it and i would do it all again at the drop of a hat.

so there you have it boys/gril tihs was my 70 hour fishing trip.”

“ i still cant beleave i did it but it was one of the best moves ive ever done.

when people ask my why do you keep going to clattercote i tell them its like the carp have been taking roids down there they can fight that hard sometimes.

I would go as far as to say that if i could only fish one place for the rest of my life it would be there as the fishing is good all year round as ive never had a problem hooking carp in the wintre eather so people if you want your arm pulled of all day by carp get your self down there.
