“I have often considered buying a bait boat, but there is a nagging part of me (probably due to arguments Ive had with mates) that feels their not for me. In other words I cant make my mind up.

So the questions I have are.

1. Do baitboats take the skill out of catching carp.

2. Do they make hard waters even harder.

3. Is a carp caught without a bait boat worth more than one caught with a bait boat.

Any comments would be welcomed. fishing

“I am not a fan of bait boats. I wouldnt say they take the skill out of fishing as you still have to tie your rig and drop it from the boat in a manner that will leave you a decent presentation on the lake bed. That said, for me, casting is a more satisfying way of getting the rig to the desired spot and takes more skill than driving a boat!

I have no issue with people using bait boats, BUT when the day comes that a father teaches his son how to steer left, right, and drop rather than how to cast is the day I will start a destruction of all bait boats thread!”

“Personally I wouldnt use one.. Unless I was bored and fancied taking it for a spin!!

I can see why some people have them as they do have a use at some venues... For me I cant justify the they cost and i enjoy the challenge of casting to hard to reach places. ”

“bakes right casting is best as it is an art in its self it just takes time to master thats all most poeple use the boat to by pass the catsing part... i know some people that use them i also have used them but im of the thinking that there is nothing better than hooking a fish from a snag spot or a spot with a marker float thats out at 60 or 70 yards out with that well placed cast so i would say bait boats are a SINNER im a SINNER NOOOOOO LOL it pains me to say that as ive sed in the past i would never use one.”

“I think its more to do with the noise the the lead makes when it hits the water. Not that i worry about that cuz at the end of the day the fish will come back its just a case of waiting for them or it could be that they are just lazy lol. If i owned a lake there would be no bait boats on there but thats just me lol
