“I have just heard reports that British waterways have just given the go ahead for an OFFICIAL GUINNESS WORLD RECORD CARP CATCH ATTEMPT ON BODDINGTON RESERVOIR.

Full details are yet to be confirmed, but we are led to believe that the attempt will take place over a 72 hour period, with the target weight being in the region of 2,200 lb eyepopping

Watch this space for more information.”

“The average size of the carp in Boddington is somewhere between 8lb and 12lb, with plenty of bigger carp to around 18lb - 20lb.

I am not sure what the lake record is currently, but based on Clattercote (Boddingtons sister res) I would guestimate that its around 25lb - 30lb.”

“We have been in touch with British Waterways in an effort to coax some more info out of them about this.

Whilst they have confirmed that there have been successful negotiations with Guiness, they were unable to provide any indication of when we can expect this event to take place...

Watch this space for more info.”
